"Corporations Act 2001 s 247A member inspection of books order"

institutionalproposed0.00→ never 1.0
Canonical Claim

Corporations Act 2001 (Cth) s 247A lets the Court order inspection of company or registered scheme books where the applicant acts in good faith and inspection is for a proper purpose, with derivative-action applicants subject to connected-purpose criteria.

Warrant (how it is justified) and consensus state / credence (where the community stands) are independent axes. The four warrant kinds are unordered peers — not a certainty ladder.

Consensus Frontier

⚑ held by convention · challengeable

This claim has no dependencies — the drill terminates here. Not because bedrock was reached, but because this is where the community currently agrees to stop digging. It is epistemically identical to every other node: held by convention, and challengeable.

Answer

Corporations Act 2001 (Cth) s 247A allows the Court to order inspection of books of a company or registered scheme by a member, or by another person on the member behalf, if satisfied that the applicant is acting in good faith and the inspection is for a proper purpose. A person with, seeking, or eligible for s 237 derivative-action leave may also apply, with the Court requiring good faith and a purpose connected with applying for leave or bringing or intervening in proceedings with leave. An authorised person may make copies unless the Court orders otherwise. Official source checked: Federal Register of Legislation, Corporations Act 2001 current text, s 247A. Dogfood note: Source search for s 247A did not surface a native Corporations Act s 247A row; it returned adjacent proposed Corporations topics and unrelated CCA rows.
