Corporations Act 2001 (Cth) s 250A provides that a proxy appointment is valid if it is signed, or otherwise authenticated in a prescribed manner, by the member making the appointment and contains the member name and address, company name, proxy name or proxy office, and the meetings at which the appointment may be used. The appointment may be standing; an undated appointment is taken to be dated on the day it is given to the company; it need not be witnessed; and a later appointment revokes an earlier one if both could not be validly exercised at the meeting.
